New York Yankees catcher Jose Trevino was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left quad strain on Saturday.Trevino exited Friday’s 4-1 win over the host Baltimore Orioles in the top of the ninth inning after hitting a double and then scoring on Juan Soto’s single. Trevino was replaced in the bottom half of the inning by Austin Wells.Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after the game he believes Trevino’s injury came on the slide to home in the ninth.Trevino, 31, went 2-for-4 in Friday’s game with two doubles and an RBI. Over 59 games this season, he’s hitting.244 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs.Over seven seasons with the Texas Rangers and Yankees, Trevino has a .241 average with 32 homers and 140 RBIs. He earned an All-Star nomination and won the Gold Glove in 2022.
