Right-hander Frankie Montas has agreed to a two-year, $34 million deal with the New York Mets, multiple media outlets reported Sunday night.Coming off a National League Championship Series appearance, New York is trying to fill in its starting rotation after watching Sean Manaea, Luis Severino and Jose Quintana hit free agency.Montas’ deal is pending a physical, and the 31-year-old can opt out of the contract following the 2025 campaign, per the reports.In 30 starts with the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers last season, Montas went 7-11 with a 4.84 ERA. He logged 150 2/3 innings during his time with the two clubs.
