The New York Mets officially placed second baseman Jeff McNeil on the injured list with a fractured right wrist and recalled outfielder DJ Stewart from Triple-A Syracuse.McNeil, 32, was injured in the fifth inning of Friday night’s 6-4 win against the Cincinnati Reds. McNeil squared to bunt, and as he pulled his bat back, he was hit by a curveball thrown by Brandon Williamson.He stayed in the game after being checked by a trainer and even completed a double play in the top half of the sixth inning, but he was pulled for a pinch hitter in the bottom half of the inning due to swelling in his wrist.An MRI Saturday morning confirmed the fracture. He is expected to be out for the remainder of the season barring a deep playoff run by New York.
