Giants LT Andrew Thomas undergoes foot surgery, likely out for season

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas underwent surgery to repair a Lisfranc foot injury and is unlikely to be recovered by the end of the regular season.Thomas said Sunday night after the Giants (2-4) lost to the Cincinnati Bengals that he fought through considerable pain. He briefly met with the team’s medical staff and they informed him he would need tests this week.”Not great, but it’s part of the game,” Thomas said Sunday night of how he was feeling physically.NFL Network reported Thomas would miss the rest of the season. Head coach Brian Daboll met with media on Monday and said he would share additional details as the Giants return to practice Wednesday.Thomas visited a specialist in Charlotte, N.C., on Tuesday and determined surgery would be necessary.
