FSU-SU quick hits

10 quickies on FSU's win over the Orange.

1. It's amazing how big time college athletics work. With all of the news hovering around the Seminole football program, investigations could easily be going on while no one plays. Money-politics-power-football are incredible things at places like Florida State.

2. There is just too much talent-edge speed-skill for SU to hang with FSU.

3. The Orange offense is doing the right thing. Pound the ball, find short space and keep the ball away from the Noles.

4. 2015 and 2016 SU football's key players: A.J. Long, Jamal Custis, Steve Ishmael and Erv Philips.

5. Can't drop the ball or turn it over, Syracuse. FSU already has enough of an advantage.

6. Jack Nicklaus in the house. And what a gentleman. The grandfather of FSU tight end Nick O'Leary. It's the first time in Syracuse for The Golden Bear.

7. SU is about two drops, two right Red Zone calls, a turnover and anything else away from this being a 10-point or less game. We have said that a few times this year though, haven't we?

8. Syracuse really did play hard today. It wasn't a question of effort. The Orange just cannot keep up player for player.

9. Florida State is either going to do just enough to get into the Top 4 college football playoff or lose a game or two because they lack that extra playmaker.

10. Hats off to the Carrier Dome crowd. Those that came out really tried to cheer on the team and encourage a program that hasn't had the best of weeks.
