Maryland-SU Recap.

10 thoughts from Maryland's one-sided 34-20 win over Syracuse at the Carrier Dome.

1. White helmets on all blue uniforms for Syracuse is a little weird, sure. If you don't like them, it doesn't matter. Crazy uniforms make recruits turn heads and make money. In today's college football world, that's all that matters.

2. It doesn't matter who you are, it is tough to be a defense these days in college and pro football.

3. Cam Lynch is a monster player right now. What a sack late in the first quarter.

4. Syracuse's coaching staff has to be puffing out chests that they didn't redshirt Erv Phillips. This was likely a special teams move to help Brisly Estime. Phillips has a lot of work to do, but he is young and the potential is there.

5. Terrel Hunt's decision making is iffy on this day. He has contributed to a lot of Maryland points.

6. Miscue after miscue for SU. Dropped passes. Dropped INT opportunities (Eric Crume). Terrel Hunt throwing high over and over with the INT and fumble. Ugly day.

7. Syracuse cannot throw the ball down the field. This is a dink and dunk offense with no home run ball in a throw-it-down-the-field football world. Not good.

8. Maybe the SU "tons of options on offense" hurts them. No one seems ready to catch the ball. And no rhythm.

9. Scott Shafer told us to never talk about Villanova again. How about Maryland, coach?

10. In baseball, you are as good as your next day's pitcher. In football, you are as good as your next week's game. Notre Dame is up next. Every week is different. Who knows what will happen in that game? After SU creamed CMU, I didn't expect this today against the Terps. So….we wait.
